Hungry for Truth 2026 Farm to Fork Dinner Celebrates South Dakota Agriculture
This past June marked our annual Farm to Fork Dinner, bringing together farmers, industry leaders, and advocates to celebrate South Dakota agriculture and the people behind it.
From the green-themed venue to soybean facts displayed throughout the table settings, every detail reflected the importance of agriculture and the many ways soy touches our lives. Guests enjoyed a social hour featuring appetizers accompanied by cards explaining how soy was incorporated into each dish.
Hosts Bruce and Marlene Haines welcomed attendees with warm hospitality before newly appointed CEO Kevin Scott kicked off the evening with opening remarks. Guests then gathered around the table for a delicious meal, followed by a sweet treat from the South Dakota State University ice cream truck—home to the invention of cookies and cream ice cream.
As dinner was served, keynote speaker Cole Sonne with Sonne Farms shared his journey from growing up on the farm to using YouTube to tell agriculture’s story. His message offered an authentic look at the challenges and rewards of farming and highlighted the importance of connecting consumers with those who grow their food.
It was an evening filled with great food, meaningful conversations, and a shared appreciation for the people and stories that make South Dakota agriculture so special.
