Ingredients
Cookies
  • 1cup Butter
  • 3/4cup Sugar
  • 1tsp vanilla
  • 3tsp rum
  • 3cups Flour
  • 1tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4tsp Salt
Frosting
  • 1/3cup Butter
  • 1tsp vanilla
  • 5tsp rum
Instructions
Cookies
  1. Cream butter.
  2. Gradually add sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
  3. Then add the egg, vanilla, and rum.
  4. Fold in flour, nutmeg, and salt.
  5. Spread some sugar out on a surface or cutting board to make a sugar board. Roll dough on sugar board to about 5/8 inch roll and then cut in 2” pieces. The end result will look like a log.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees in a preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes. Let the cookies cool before frosting.
Frosting
  1. Beat together all ingredients until smooth.
  2. For thinner or thicker frosting add more or less rum. The strong rum taste will go away after the frosting dries.
